Plymouth Taser officer cleared of misconduct

Following a disciplinary panel on Friday, March 6, 2015, it has been ruled that a police officer involved in a Taser deployment which resulted in a fatality will have no further action taken against him by Devon and Cornwall Police.

Andrew Pimlott died following the incident in Honicknowle, Plymouth, on April 19, 2013.

Devon and Cornwall Police have tasered a teenage boy with special learning needs at Chelfham Senior School in Bere Alston, near Tavistock.

Police were called to the school grounds around 9pm on December 1 after an alleged assault on a teacher involving three teenage boys.

Man engulfed by fire in police Taser incident dies of his injuries

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) are investigating whether the discharging of a Taser gun by a police officer led to the death of 32-year-old Andrew Pimlott who sustained serious burn injuries.

The IPCC has confirmed that Mr Pimlott died in Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, on 23 April following the incident in a rear garden in Honicknowle in Plymouth.
