The Rotary Club of Plympton are organising a Teddy Bear Parachute jump in aid of various charities supported by the Rotary club on Saturday 1 June, and are asking people if they own a teddy brave enough to take part.

Environment Agency reviews Hemerdon Mine permits

The Environment Agency has today received two applications for environmental permits at Hemerdon Mine, Devon.

Wolf Minerals Ltd have applied to carry out a mining waste operation at their site near Plympton, which is one of the largest tungsten and tin reserves in the world. The Agency has also received an associated application for a water quality permit.

Fallen tree brings down power cables and crushes car in Plympton

Police and fire crews were called to Fore Street, Plympton after a tree fell, bringing down power lines. The tree landed in the vicinity of parked cars and crushed at least one vehicle. There are no reports of injuries.

A man arrested by police after he had climbed onto the roof of a house in the Chaddlewood area of Plympton, has been charged.
