Police charge man found on roof of house

A man arrested by police after he had climbed onto the roof of a house in the Chaddlewood area of Plympton, has been charged.

Benjamin Horseman, 21, from Plympton has been charged with affray and criminal damage. He appeared before South and West Devon Magistrates' Court and has been bailed until 22 May.

Police were called out in the early hours of Saturday (4 May) morning after reports of disorder. Mr Horseman was found on the roof of a residential premise from where he began began throwing items at police officers.   Specialist teams from all emergency services attended the scene and after a period of negotiation, Mr Horseman left the roof, exited the premises and was arrested.  He was taken into police custody at Crownhill.
