Mind, Body and Soul Music

La La Choirs present Mind, Body and Soul Music, a concert to raise awareness and much needed funds for Hamoaze House drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Plymoouth. The theme has been chosen to support the objectives of Hamoaze House and their work.

Tickets are available online from http://lalachoirs.co.uk/mind-body-soul-music/ and are £12 for adults, £6 for under 14s.

Guests include Big Beat, junk percussion bank from Calstock, and Semi-Toned, Exeter University's award winning all male a capella singing group.

We’re pleased to welcome back two of the British folk scene’s most accomplished performers, following two great sell out gigs in 2013.

Kathryn and Sean won the Best Duo Award in the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, as well as being nominated in the Best Original Song category. They have graced stages the world over in a number of guises, however, the intimacy and strength of passion they show as a duo, combined with an eclectic repertoire ensures a rare treat.

Soul music will be played for over 11 hours at The Guildhall in St Ives, Cornwall on Saturday 12th July.

As well as watching some fabulous soul artists perform, those who attend can also take advantage of the large wooden dance floor.

Some of the artists performing include Nige Brown and Jo March.

Tickets cost £10 in advance and £12 on the door.

Easter music-themed events at libraries

Libraries will be keeping children entertained this Easter holiday with an egg-citing ensemble of free music-themed activities.

Plymouth to host major MTV music event

MTV will be ‘crashing’ Plymouth Hoe this summer to stage a spectacular live music event as part of the city’s ‘Three Towns’ centenary celebrations.

Organised in collaboration with the City Council, ‘MTV Crashes Plymouth’ will take place in July and feature a number of headline music acts.

College musicians raise £275 for St Luke’s Hospice

Musicians from Ivybridge Community College's Flute Ensemble have presented St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth with a cheque for £275.

The money, which they raised by recording and selling a CD of Christmas Music, will help St Luke's continue to provide specialist end-of-life care to more than 3,500 patients a year across Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall.
