Saltram celebrates the 18th annual jazz picnic

On Saturday 20 July, Saltram, near Plympton, will be throwing open its gates for another evening of jumping jazz in partnership with Plymouth Jazz Club.

Now a firm favourite in the events calendar, this year’s jazz picnic looks set to be another fantastic night with the return of two great bands, Roger Mark’s Cornish Armada Jazz Band and Mike Cox’s New Orleans Jazz Band.

Gates open at 5.30pm, with the event running from 6pm-11pm. Pack your picnic, dig out your folding chairs and picnic rugs, and dust off those dancing shoes for a night of eating, dancing and merriment.  Come rain or shine don’t forget to bring your brollies, decorated or otherwise, for our brolly parade.

This year we have invited the B-Bar from the Barbican Theatre to join us and provide you with all the essential refreshments needed for the evening of joviality in the sunshine. Pimms is top of the menu! They will also be bringing their delicious Thai noodles, freshly prepared on site, for those of you who travel light but appreciate the need for good food to fuel your dancing.

Tickets for the jazz picnic are available in advance on 01752 333500, or on the gate at £15 per adult and £5 student (with NUS card). Under 18s, and under 10s go free when accompanied by a responsible adult.  For more information, visit our website: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/saltram
