A day of activities is taking place to mark Love Your Parks day – a celebration of all the activities you can do for free outdoors.

Art Bite Turner Prize-winning artist Douglas Gordon often raises questions about talent, virtuosity and genius in his work. Join a member of staff from Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery to find out more about his works inspired by ‘The Master of Suspense’ (Alfred Hitchcock) and one of the greatest players in the history of football (Zinedine Zidane). Discover the links between these and ‘the leading English portraitist of the 18th century’ – Plymouth’s very own Sir Joshua Reynolds.

Life beneath the Keel to be revealed

A leading nature charity is planning to reveal the secrets of the South West’s wonderful marine wildlife at a special event being organised for recreational boat owners and the wider public.

The event, entitled ‘Life Beneath the Keel’, is being staged by Devon Wildlife Trust at the Mount Batten Centre, Plymouth, between 10am and 2.30pm on Saturday 16 April.
