Work starts on new Central Library

Work to create a new Central Library in the heart of Plymouth’s city centre is now under way.

Vacant retail and bank units on the corner of Armada Way and Mayflower Street are being converted to create a more modern, flexible and welcoming library that will replace the one in Drake Circus.

Early Roman Catholic missal discovered at Plymouth’s Central Library

A very rare Roman Catholic missal dated 1637 is one of a number of early Christian texts going on display at Plymouth’s Central Library from Friday 16 August.

Plymouth Central Library is hosting an event on Friday 26 April where people can get help with finding work or advice on maintaining a healthy work/life balance.
