Visitors to Sir Francis Drake’s former home Buckland Abbey in Devon can now see a newly identified portrait of the Elizabethan seafarer on public display for the first time.

Historian, Sue Jackson gives a fascinating talk about our very own Sir Francis Drake, based on the two years of research she has undertaken discovering his Plymouth and seeing what’s left of it.

Admission is free but tickets must be booked in advance by calling 01752 304774 or collecting in person from the Museum's Welcome Desk. Any unreserved tickets will be available on the day. For the enjoyment of all attendees we will not admit latecomers if the gallery is full or very busy.
