Free training is being offered to entrants in this year’s epic endurance RockSolidRace in Plymouth.

RockSolidRace is one of the nation’s toughest fun challenges which includes running through fire, hydro sliding, climbing hay bales and crawling through mud tunnels among 30 other obstacles.

Now city based fitness gurus FIT Bootcamp, which is run by serving and ex-serving military Physical Training Instructors, has stepped in to offer free training on Saturday mornings in the run-up to the event.

RockSolidRace works in partnership with Cancer Research but all teams are encouraged to join and raise money for whichever charity they choose to support.

Mark Nesbitt from FIT Bootcamp says they are proud to support the race: “Not only does it push your limits but it's a fun way to raise money for your chosen charity: for us this year it’s Hugs for Henry.

"These free high intensity, muscle endurance and cardio workouts start Saturday 29 June at 0900 at the Plymouth Argyll Park and Ride and run until 24 August.

“We're also offering all RockSolid participants discounted monthly membership for July and August. Let's get motivated, get tough, get fit and race ready for Plymouth's premier fitness event of 2013.”

The Plymouth challenge will be held on 31st August and promises to be more-action packed than ever with new obstacles such as a rope climb over a wall, not to mention Newnham Park's natural patchwork of swamps and hilly river valley.

Teams are being urged to sign up now at www.rocksolidrace.com to ensure their place and get fitness focused for this incredible race in eight weeks’ time.

Ashley Jardine, Managing Director of RockSolidRace says: "The event isn't just a cocktail of mud, sweat and challenging obstacles though. We've arranged a great line-up of food traders, a beer tent and live music. So sign up, get training and get ready to run, crawl, climb and party on 31 August at Newnham Park."
