Plymouth police are investigating after two motorcycles belonging to the same owner were targeted by an arsonist.

The first incident happened overnight on 20/21 February when a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle was set alight in Miles Mitchell Avenue, Eggbuckland. The green and white bike, valued at £5,749, was totally destroyed by the fire.

In the early hours of Monday (10 March) the owner’s green and black Kawasaki was also torched deliberately. The £1,500 machine was destroyed.

Police are linking the offences and have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the neighbourhood.

They are appealing to anyone who may have seen anybody acting suspiciously in the area of Miles Mitchell Avenue on Monday 10 March between 12.30am and 1am, and around midnight on 21 February.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime references EL/14/1115 and EL/14/1117.
