Lorry hits teenage girl in St Judes area of Plymouth

A teenage girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a lorry in the St Judes area of Plymouth earlier this morning.

The incident happened just after 8am in Craven Avenue at its junction with Beaumont Road.

The teenager is reported to have serious injuries.

The lorry driver is thought to be uninjured, but has also been taken to hospital.

The road remained closed until 2.30pm while specialist police carried out an investigation and diversions were put in place.
