City flat severely damaged in boiler fire

A ground floor flat in North Prospect Road in Plymouth as been badly damaged by fire and smoke after a fire involving a domestic fire.

Two fire appliances and crews from Camels Head station attended the fire.

A statement by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "The fire was extinguished by fire crews using two breathing apparatus wearers, one hose reel jet (and) a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property.  Fire crews assisted with salvage.  The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

"The care of the property was left with Plymouth Community Homes."
