Every Wednesday during the school holidays the garden at Saltram, on the outskirts of Plymouth, opens its gates to games, sports and activities.

Charlie McGuin, Sports Development Officer at Saltram, said: “Get your ‘Game On’ and challenge your friends and family to spend time outdoors being active this summer.
Come along between 11am and 3pm each week to see if you can become a champion. Fill out your score card and see how you fare against others – and why not come back again a week later to see if you can beat your scores.

If you’re not one for competing then just come and have a go and try something new. We have archery, tennis and golf challenges as well as other activities including cricket, croquet, bowls, badminton and more.”

Visitors can also get in the holiday mood with the summer holiday trail in Saltram Park from 25 July to 6 September. By following the map and clues, and gathering letters to work out the mystery word, they can win a prize. Trails are £2 from the Welcome Centre.

Want something a bit more relaxing? Wander into Saltram’s garden and pick something from the play-box. Visitors can then enjoy a cream tea in the tea room while they take a break from all the activity.

Garden entry will apply to non-members. Visit Saltram’s website http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/saltram/ and check out Facebook and Twitter for more information.
