Patients have given Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre a score of 100% for its ophthalmology services, according to the latest results from the national Friends and Family Test.

The hospital’s day ward scored 99.5%, its inpatient ward 99% and its endoscopy department 98.8%

Overall, Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre scored 94.5% from the 784 patients who completed the Friends and Family questionnaire during the month of January.

All providers of health care are required to carry out the Family and Friends Test as part of the NHS’ commitment to improving the patient experience. The results of the test rest on the level to which a patient would recommend a health care facility to their nearest and dearest

Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre is well known for the quality of its patient experience and was the first hospital of its kind to achieve a rating of ‘Outstanding’ from the Care Quality Commission. Comments from patients posted on Facebook include: “Excellent staff and treatment, we are lucky to have access to it”; “Excellent care and very friendly and helpful staff”; “Simply the best hospital”, and; “Absolutely brilliant, couldn’t fault it in any way”.

Mark White, Hospital Director at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre, commented: “My thanks go to our patients who completed the Friends and Family Test. Their input is vital to helping us maintain our high standards of care.”
