Brand new family-friendly illuminated experience at Connaught Gardens high above the sea at Sidmouth. There are nine different zones to see within the gardens which make use of the existing architecture, trees, flora, structures and flower beds to create very different looks for the enjoyment of all. These will use a combination of spotlights, light curtains, uplighters and tree lighting, all with energy efficient LED lamps. At the end of the trail, there's  a stunning projection on to the cliffs and hillside above Jacob’s Ladder.

The route makes use of the existing paved walkways of the garden providing an accessible route across 90% of the gardens (avoiding the steps). This also means there’s no mud and no need for wellies! With live music on the bandstand and Father Christmas ready to greet younger visitors, this is the perfect way to launch Christmas celebrations.

As well as the beautifully lit trails, there's a free-to-visit festive Craft & Food Village to browse locally made gifts and enjoy a choice of food and drink from local producers.

The illuminated garden trail costs just £5 per child, £8 per adult or £22 for a family ticket for 2 adults, 2 children. A small booking fee applies.
