Book Launch: Publishing and Literary Networks in the South West

Join us for an exciting free launch event celebrating the release of non-fiction book Publishing and Literary Networks in the South West. This new anthology, created by students at the University of Exeter, explores the rich literary networks of our region.   

Event Highlights:   

Craft Workshop: Bring out your creative side with a workshop led by Anne Le Brocq, author of The Art of Landscape Knitting, published by award-winning Exeter-based publisher David & Charles.    

Industry Panel Discussions: Explore key industry topics with two insightful panels.  

The first, chaired by Anna Cohn Orchard, Executive Director of Exeter City of Literature, will discuss decentralising the publishing industry and features Billy Kahora, current writer-in-residence at Quay Words, Sophie Dickinson, Co-Chair of the Society of Young Publishers South West, alongside other speakers tbc.  

The second, chaired by Helen Chaloner, CEO of Literature Works, will explore marginalised voices in publishing and features Suresh Ariaratnam, founder of Sprung Sultan Agency, Heather Marks, Creative Director of Words of Colour, and Mimi Jones, founder of Queer Out Loud.
