Parkinson’s UK calls for Plymouth volunteers at fireworks extravaganza

Parkinson’s UK is looking to recruit volunteers from across the South West, to ensure a fireworks display goes off with a bang.

The charity is asking for local people to give up a couple of hours of their time to sell official programmes and collect donations, at the Annual British Fireworks Championship in Plymouth.

'Britain's Ocean City' - Plymouth pioneers visitor welcome sign

Living Maritime History

A fleet of 40 to 50 historic gaff rigged sail boats starting will be calling into Plymouth on 8 May on their way round Britain as part of the celebrations for the Old Gaffer Association’s 50th anniversary.

At least four of the boats coming are over one hundred years old and most are elderly or modern reproductions of earlier sail boats. Come along to see them at the Mayflower Marina the afternoon of 8 May or on the following morning as they will sail in front of the Hoe and do a circuit of Plymouth Sound.
