Racecourse unveils new racing syndicate

This season, Newton Abbot Racecourse will be giving horseracing enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the thrill of owning a racehorse with the launch of the first ever Newton Abbot Races Racing Syndicate.

The syndicate’s horse will be purchased in May and will be trained by leading national hunt trainer, Philip Hobbs. Created as an affordable taster to racehorse ownership, membership for one year will cost just £500.

Alongside the unique experience of owning a share in a racehorse, members will also benefit from an Owners’ badge to watch the horse race at Newton Abbot Racecourse, a share of the prize money that the horse secures, stable visits and entry into a ballot for tickets to see the horse race at other courses.

Discussing the new syndicate, Patrick Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse, said: “We’re really excited to launch our first ever racing syndicate at Newton Abbot. It’s an idea that we have been considering for some time and with growing interest in the opportunity we have made the decision to launch the syndicate this season.”

“Owning a racehorse, or even a share in one, is often something that horseracing fans can only dream of. By creating a syndicate we are able to provide an affordable opportunity for our customers to experience the unrivalled excitement of watching a horse that they own race towards the winning post.”

The syndicate is now open for membership with limited places available. Membership to the syndicate costs just a one-off fee of £500 for the year from May 2015 to April 2016 and is inclusive of all associated costs.
