Redruth 3   Plymouth Albion 89

A clinical attacking display by Plymouth Albion's backs secured the club's third straight pre-season win against Redruth.

All 13 tries came from the backs, with 12 being converted.

Left wing Jamie Davies touched down three times for his hat-trick, while Tom Bowen, Chris Elder, Dan Mugford, Tom Bowen, Lewis Warner and Rob Coote all got on the scoresheet.

Head coach James Shanahan told the club's website that they had used the visit to Cornwall to field a very strong side.

Shanahan, who came on in the second half, said: “I would like to thank Redruth who were expecting us to send down a different side. It was a good physical run out for us and Redruth to their credit never gave up. I was pleased with the performance and we had pace in the backs which punished Redruth’s mistakes."

Albion's next friendly is away at Premiership Gloucester, at Kingsholm, on Friday evening.
