Cricket Minor Counties Cup, Sunday 5 May 2013

Devon's hopes of reaching the last eight knock-out stage of the Minor Counties cup were left hanging by a thread at Instow on Sunday after a second successive defeat in their pool.

Hertfordshire's five wicket win came in the 48th over of the 50 over game and rarely looked in doubt.

Devon skipper, Chris Bradley pulled no punches in blaming the side's basic batting and bowling shortcomings. He has called for improvements with the team's slim hopes of progressing to the last eight resting on winning their remaining pool fixtures against Cornwall (19 May) and Bedfordshire (2 June). They would also need other results to go their way.
