Match Preview: Plymouth Argyle v Fleetwood Town

Plymouth Argyle v Fleetwood Town

League Two, Saturday 16th March, 3pm

The Pilgrims entertain Fleetwood Town on Saturday in a game manager John Sheridan has described to Argyle's official website as "the biggest game I've had since I became a manager".

A win for Argyle would lift spirits and invigorate their fight against relegation but Fleetwood will be looking for points too as they mount a bid for the play-off places.  They currently sit one place out of the play-off zone in eighth, 5 points behind Exeter City with a game in hand.

Fleetwood arrive on the back of a confidence boosting 3-0 win (courtesy of a Jon Parkin hat-trick) against local rivals Accrington Stanley who now sit at the bottom of the table below Argyle.

Plymouth meanwhile managed a creditable 0-0 draw against League Cup finalists in mid-week, but have failed to score in 4 of their last games at Home Park, a stat they will be looking to improve on.

A victory could lift Argyle out of the relegation zone and set them on course for a successful battle to remain in the Football League.
