Witness appeal following Plymouth assault

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Plymouth on Saturday 26th September.

At around 11pm a group of men were walking along Exeter Street when a red van with ladders on the top turned into the Asda petrol station narrowly missing one of the group.

Following this an altercation took place where the man who was driving the red van, described as white, late 20s to early 30s, of heavy build, a bushy beard and wearing a blue hooded top, stepped out of the van assaulted one of the men in the group.

The victim sustained serious facial injuries and required surgery.

Police would like to speak a female member of public and a female driver of a white Hackney cab using the petrol pumps at the time of the assault; They could hold vital information.
