Two men charged with Mutley Plain murder attempt

Police have charged the two suspects they were holding in relation to an attack on Saturday evening with attempted murder.

The 23-year-old victim was stabbed and seriously injured while he was getting into a taxi in the Mutley Plain area at approximately 11pm on Saturday evening (13 April).

The two males, Nigel Saunders, 45, of Peter's Close, Elburton, and David John Woolley, 49, of Northumberland Street, Weston Mill, were remanded in custody by Plymouth Magistrates' Court today. They will appear before Plymouth Crown Court on 29 April.

Police say that they have arrested a further two men in connection with the incident and they are currently being held in custody.

The victim, who has not been named, remains in Derriford Hospital having sustained a number of injuries.
