Reform UK Is Essential

Saving The Nation - Saving Ourselves

At the time of the Brexit referendum, I was travelling and spending time in Cyprus, Malta and other European countries.  I voted remain.  It was the obvious thing to do.  I hadn’t thought about it much beyond how convenient life was for me.

Of course, the result shook me to the core.  I was angry; I was bewildered.  In time, as the dust settled, and we had to accept the democratic will of the people, I began to notice a constant drum beat of anti-leaver rhetoric.  “They’re thickos”, “they’re racists”, “they’ve been lied to by big money and Rupert Murdoch”, “they've believed the social media fake news from the Russians”.  “It was the big red bus”.

I was shocked with the abusive silly things that remainers were saying about leavers.  So, I researched and investigated, and ultimately realised that there was more to it.  It was about British democracy, so my passion for the EU cooled.

Then in 2020, we saw the George Floyd /BLM protests, the pulling down of statutes, and the demonisation of JK Rawlings.  Something was really wrong in my society.  So, I researched the culture wars and a range of issues and reading books about the Woke, by the Woke and many others.  It was clear there was a war on the West, and to my horror on British society.

I couldn’t still work out what was going on until I read “Values, Voice and Virtue” by Professor Matt Goodwin.  It joined all the dots, and made clear that Brexit was just one of the battlegrounds between an educated graduate elite and the majority of Britons, who were non-graduates and mostly working class – the people who lived away from the Westminster bubble, the Metropolitan cites, and Russell group university towns.

Over the past few decades, the Establishment had turned into a Technocracy, where political power was being transferred sideways into unaccountable quangos, and upwards to the EU and other supranational bodies.  Globalisation was the goal, where the rich got richer and the moderately waged and the poor got poorer.  The Labour Party turned its back on the working classes, and begin to favour minorities in an identity ideology culture war obsessive way.

In recent times we have seen a major financial crisis, a worldwide pandemic, and major war on European soil, and now a conflict in the Middle East that risks turning into a worldwide conflict.  In all this time we have watched as the mainstream politicians have progressively failed to work for the British public, seemingly more focused on pursuing their own ambitions or ideologies.  In an increasingly more dangerous world, our politicians and institutions seem totally incapable of protecting us, let along enabling us to thrive.

Earlier this year I realised that I couldn’t stand about whingeing about it, but that I had to do something.  I earnestly looked for a political home where I may join the fight to bring sanity back to our society and country.

I soon came across The Reform UK Party, and found a group of people, who like me could no longer tolerate the ruination of Britain.  Consequently, I volunteered to represent the Reform UK Party in the next general election.  I was interviewed, background checked and eventually allowed to apply for the South West Devon constituency.

I am now the PPC for South West Devon Reform UK, and beginning to build a constituency party and team of volunteers who want to see to end of Tory rule and to prevent the ruination of Britain by an ideologically captured Labour Party.
