Devon-based Green Overhead Surf brand is proud to announce a Gnarly new partnership with 9trees.org to help create biodiverse woodlands throughout the UK.

This initiative is part of a wider plan for maintaining a healthy ocean ecosystem and helping preserve local wildlife, allowing them to thrive and reach their full potential.

By planting new saplings and creating biodiverse woodlands, 9trees.org and Green Overhead are together striving to create a better future for our natural world.

Green Overhead has long been committed to actively pursuing the perfect ‘yew’ a term used by fellow Surfboarders to congratulate others on catching a gnarly wave, although this phrase has taken on new meaning as 9Trees.org works to achieve harmony between the ocean and local woodlands.

Oceans and woodlands are intrinsically connected, as the health of one deeply impacts the health of the other. Trees act as a natural filter, absorbing pollutants and toxins from our tributaries and rivers before they flow into the oceans, Riverbank trees also while also helping to reduce erosion which stops river beds from silting up, the pebbles are the habitat for all kinds of aquatic life and a spawning ground for salmon and other fish along coasts. Trees also play an important role in climate regulation, absorbing vast amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

The perfect ‘yew’ between Land and Sea is not just a dream but rather an achievable reality, and 9trees.org alongside Green Overhead is determined to make it happen.

By replanting and conserving woodlands, we can ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy what our environment has to offer, in all its diversity and beauty. Our actions today will shape the future of tomorrow.

Michael Cunningham Director of 9Trees said:

Danial Maker Director of Green Overhead said:
