Police in Plymouth investigating a stabbing incident are seeking to identify a potential witness.

The incident occurred at around 1pm on Monday 5 August when a Plymouth man, aged in his twenties, suffered stab wound injuries after an incident in Staddon Terrace Lane.

The victim recalls seeing a blue car being driven by a woman coming from the parking bays, just inside Staddon Terrace, and thinks it may be an older-style Nisan Micra.

The vehicle drove back towards North Road West.

This woman may have witnessed the incident or the immediate aftermath, and have important information that can assist the investigation.

Police are appealing for this woman to come forward at the earliest opportunity and would like to stress that she is regarded as an important witness and not considered to be involved in any way.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance where it was confirmed that he had received three stab wounds to the shoulder, abdomen and thigh. The injuries are not life changing or life threatening.

Police would like to hear from this woman or anyone else who was in the vicinity at the time and ask that they contact them on 101 quoting police reference EC/13/7573 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or report online at www.Crimestoppers-uk.org.
