Police in Plymouth have issued photographs of some of the specialist commercial tools used in HGV diagnostic tests that have been stolen from Belgrave Commercials in Plympton.

The theft is believed to have taken place sometime over the weekend of 14 – 17 June.

In addition to the HGV diagnostic equipment stolen, other items taken included an oxygen bottle, an acetylene bottle with leads and cutter, a Makita 14v drill and Hitachi angle grinders.

A police spokesman said: “These items alone are worth around £3,000 but are very specific to HGV diagnostic tests, so are of limited use outside the commercial vehicle world.

“We would ask commercial goods garages and operators throughout Devon and Cornwall to be vigilant and if they are offered similar used equipment for sale report it to the police – it may be stolen.”

If anyone has any information about this incident or the whereabouts of this equipment please call 101 and quote reference EP/13/621, alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
