Police appeal for witnesses to Crownhill Road collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to a two-vehicle collision in Plymouth which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to Crownhill Road around 11am yesterday (26 February) after a Ford Transit van was in collision with a Honda CBR motorcycle at the junction with Parade Road.

The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old Plymouth man, sustained serious leg and internal injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The 52-year-old male van driver, from Plymouth, was also taken to hospital with minor back injuries.

Officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit attended and the road was closed by seven hours for a forensic examination to be carried out at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision and would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles travelling in the Crownhill area prior to the collision.
