Plymouth woman charged with attempted murder

A Plymouth woman has been charged with the attempted murder of a 35-year-old man.

Devon and Cornwall Police say that Annabel Beal, aged 25, from Deptford Place, Greenbank in Plymouth has been charged with the alleged crime and is due to appear in Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday 8 July 2013.

Ms Beal was arrested on Saturday morning following a call from the public. She was held in custody at Launceston police station.

A 35-year-old man was taken to Derriford Hospital by ambulance crews having been discovered in an alleyway close to Deptford Place, bleeding profusely from a large wound.

The man, who has not been named, is understood to have undergone surgery and is in a serious but stable condition.
