Organisers of Plymouth’s Half Marathon, GO2, are pleased to announce that the event has already attracted a staggering 2,300 plus entries so far! With just over three months to go until race day, organisers are expecting a record breaking sell out year.

Jamie Warren, Head of Marketing and Commercial at GO2, said: "We have been blown away by the quantity of entrants to Plymouth’s Half Marathon this year and we are well on track to make Sunday 19th April a record breaking event, not just for runners but in Plymouth’s Half Marathon history! Many runners enjoyed a hugely successful 10k last year and want to challenge themselves in the New Year with a 13.1 mile challenge, proving once you have caught the running bug it’s hard to shake it off!

“Whether your goal is to get fit, fundraise, beat your personal best or have fun with friends, Plymouth’s Half Marathon is a popular and welcoming race where you can start to tick off those New Year’s resolutions!”

The stunning and varied route is perfect for either beginners or those more experienced runners wanting to beat a previous half marathon time. The route boasts charming coastal paths, a flat harbour section, beautiful National Trust grounds of Saltram Park and runners can finish off at the Hoe, where you can expect thousands of supporters waiting to cheer you across the finish line!

Don’t fancy running solo? The Company Challenge will also return for 2015, where work colleagues can enter a team to complete the course together. Teams can be made up of a minimum of four entrants and the winning time will be comprised by the top four fastest finishers within a mixed team. To ensure team motivation is kept high a prize charity donation of £250 will be awarded to the winning company!  Jamie continued: “The Company Challenge is great for those who want to complete a New Year’s challenge as part of a supportive team and of course it’s also an opportunity for some healthy industry competition between rival companies!”

As the race has reached over 2,300 entries there has never been a better time to get involved. Whether you have run in previous years and want to beat your best time, or if you’re simply looking to set yourself a personal goal to get fit or fundraise, visit www.plymouthhalfmarathon.com where you can sign up for the challenge today!
