Following a successful fundraising event on Friday 5th August, which raised an amazing £850, staff from the Outpatient Management Centre at Derriford Hospital are continuing their fundraising efforts in aid of the Gold Dust Appeal.

To raise as much as possible, in preparation for the Gold Dust Superheroes Abseil down Plymouth's iconic Holiday Inn on Sunday 25th September, members of the team are taking part in a stepathon throughout August, with the aim of walking two million steps, counted on their Fitbit.

Teresa Macdonald, Assistant Team Leader in the Outpatient Management Centre, said: “As part of our fundraising efforts for the Gold Dust Appeal, we had a very successful quiz night and raised a staggering amount of money. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle, bought tickets and attended the evening and supported us. This was the first quiz night that we have organised and it is definitely something we will continue, due to the huge success!

“Our next challenge is the sponsored stepathon, where a small group of us are aiming to do two million steps during the month of August. This appeal is very close to our hearts and we would really appreciate any support to raise as much as possible.”
