NT Connections returns to Theatre Royal Plymouth

As one of the National Theatre Connections 25 Partner Theatres across the UK, Theatre Royal Plymouth is proud to be hosting this year’s NT Connections in The Drum for South West companies and school groups.

The festival runs from Tuesday 28 March – Saturday 1 April 2023. 

Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK’s most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow.

The schedule is as follows: 

Tues 28 March – The Spires performing Old Times and Heles School performing Tuesday

Weds 29 March – Acorn Young People’s Theatre performing Old Times and Atlantic Coast Theatre Co performing Is This Good Enough?

Thurs 30 March – Plympton Academy performing Strangers Like Me and Lipson Co-operative Academy performing Is My Microphone On?

Fri 31 March – Plough Youth Theatre performing Tuesday and Plymstock School performing Is My Microphone On?

Sat 1 April – TRP’s Young Company performing Tuesday 

Scarlett Sterne, Engagement and Learning Officer at Theatre Royal Plymouth said: “We are really excited to welcome these companies to The Drum this March to follow on from their performances in their home venues. 

“NT Connections is an exciting opportunity for these young people to have the chance to work in a professional theatrical environment, offering them an insight into the world of performance. It is also a great moment to put Theatre Royal Plymouth on the map nationally and give that platform to young people within the South West.”
