The committee of Plymouth’s Pride of the West with St. Andrews’s Oddfellows Friendly Society has met at St. Budeaux Community Centre and discussed a range of issues.

Opening the meeting, Noble Grand - in effect chairperson – Brenda Lowe, informed members of the recent passing of Stephen Williams, a popular member of the Oddfellows and a minutes silence was observed in his memory.

The meeting then addressed matters including financial and practical assistance for members and the forthcoming Plymouth and Truro District annual meeting.

Kathrine Hicks-Jane updated the meeting with details of the latest Sunday lunch gathering, a popular fixture for local Oddfellows for many years and confirmed the next meal was on Sunday 17th March, 2024 at the Boringdon Park Golf Club, Plympton.

After lunch, a friendship afternoon saw members attend and enjoy board games, a good chat and lots of tea and biscuits!

Meeting for a variety of activities in Redruth, Truro, Plymouth and other locations and with all the benefits of a well-established friendly society, the Oddfellows always welcomes new members of all ages and genders and all enquiries should be directed to the Provincial Secretary, Peter English on 01209 200810, by email to peter.english@oddfellows.co.uk , by post to the District Office at The Oddfellows Hall, 49 Green Lane, Redruth TR15 1LL, or via the Oddfellows website: https://www.oddfellows.co.uk/ where there is a wealth of information about the society and the many benefits it offers its membership.
