Lympstone Manor's 'Celebration of Speed' returns

On 12 July 2023, luxury manor house hotel, Lympstone Manor, in Devon, welcomes back its revered annualCelebration of Speed. The one-day festival commemorates Michelin-starred chef Owner; Michael Caines’ love of motorsport with a line-up including panel discussions with former Formula One World Champion Damon Hill and former Head of Performance at Williams Formula One and race engineer for Felipe Massa, Rob Smedley. As the evening draws in, Lympstone Manor transforms for a Party in the Paddock, with a world-renowned line-up including BRIT award nominees Scouting for Girls, chart toppers Soul II Soul, and dance legend Judge Julesalongside West Country icon Steven Knightley of Show of Hands. 

As the British Grand Prix takes its final lap, Lympstone Manor gears up for its annual Celebration of Speed on 12 July with doors open from 12 noon to 12 midnight. The 28-acre grounds will transform as it welcomes an exclusive collection of supercars, powerboats, and motorbikes, offering guests unrivalled access to some of the most desired and exciting brands in motorsport including Lamborghini, McLaren, Ferrari, and Porsche. Joining the Celebration of Speed line-up will be former Formula One World Champion and Sky News pundit, Damon Hill, and motoring expert Rob Smedley to host a series of talks throughout the day, sharing behind-the-scenes insight into working in one of the biggest and most popular motor racing competitions in the world. 

Guests are invited to head over to the dedicated ‘Pit Lane’ for a selection of food and drink from the South West’s best festival feasts and beverages to refresh throughout the day. There will be something for everyone from street-style food and burgers to wood-fired pizza.

As the day draws to a close, guests are invited to a Party in the Paddock with an exciting world-renowned line up taking to the stage with live music from 5pm. The line-up includes four times BRIT award nominees Scouting for Girls, twice Grammy award winners Soul II Soul, known best for their Number One top hit ‘Back to Life’, and dance legend, who pioneered the dance sceneJudge Jules, alongside West Country icon Steven Knightley of Show of Hands.

Guests booking the Residents VIP Tickets are invited to join Lympstone Manor for a two-night stay and an intimate pre-festival Driver’s Dinner on 11 July hosted by Damon Hill and Rob Smedley in aid of Down Syndrome International. A charity auction and raffle will take place to raise important funds for the charity close to Damon’s heart. The following day, Residents will have VIP tickets for across the festival with access to the ‘golden circle’ front row of the stage and a pre-party three course dinner at the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant. 

Tickets:

General admission tickets: £40 per person / Early bird ticket: £35 per person, purchased before 14 May 2023

VIP tickets: £150 per person, including a welcome Chandon Spritz on arrival; a selection of complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; and a feast from the outdoor kitchen for lunch.

Resident VIP tickets: from £1315 per night, including a two-nights’ accommodation at Lympstone Manor and dinner on 11 July hosted by Damon Hill and Rob Smedley.

Access to the event:

Ironically, the Celebration of Speed event will have limited parking available and therefore ticket holders are to access the event via pedestrian routes and public transport with Exmouth Train Station connecting to the Manor via the Scenic route of the Exe Estuary Cycle Path; an easily accessible route which takes an approximate 20 minute leisurely stroll to reach the Manor or via the 57 bus route Exeter-Exmouth alighting at the Saddlers Arms followed by a short 15 minutes’ walk to the Manor.

There will be limited parking available to VIP ticket holders and blue badge holders on a pre-booked and first come, first come basis. (Subject to availability and + supplement fee).

Taxi/Drop off location will be at the main entrance of Lympstone however to avoid congestion guests are encouraged to use the pedestrian entrances via the Cycle Path.
