Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Cllr Mark Shayer, has “cut the ribbon” (15/3) at a brand-new Upland Drive Post Office that has opened in the ward that he represents.

Greg Gardner has opened Upland Drive Post Office at his SPAR Late Stop store which he owns at 71 -73 Upland Drive, Derriford, PL6 6BE.

At the Post Office we are continually looking to refresh our network and ensure we meet our customer needs. Whilst we opened another brand-new Post Office at Plymouth Derriford Hospital last July for staff, patients and visitors, we recognised that there was still a real need for a Post Office for the whole Derriford community and surrounding area.

Upland Drive Post Office is open throughout the opening hours of the SPAR Late Stop convenience store.

This new branch offers customers a wide range of Post Office services, from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items. Customers can also take advantage of a wide range of banking services including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks.

The new Post Office services is available seven days a week: Monday – Sunday: 7am – 10pm. This offers customers 105 hours of Post Office service a week, making it very convenient for customers to visit.

This is one of our local style branches with a low-screened, open-plan Post Office service point carefully integrated into the retail counter.

Matt Walls, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best. We know how important our services are to customers, and are confident that this brand new Post Office will ensure that people in Derriford have easy access to our services.”
