Do you want to join an ambitious, growing charity in Plymouth? Experienced and passionate social workers are needed to join the award-winning local women’s charity, Trevi.

Trevi has launched a recruitment drive to get more staff on board to deliver its vital services across Plymouth and beyond. The campaign aims to recruit experienced social workers to support families and their children in making a new start in life.

The charity says they are committed to delivering a professional, empathetic service, and one in which all their residents can have their individual needs heard and respected. They are a life-changing charity with a trauma-informed culture.

The recruitment drive focuses on attracting experienced social workers ‘looking for a new challenge’ and who are passionate about positive outcomes for families and children.

Trevi is predominately recruiting social workers to their Daffodil Family Assessment Centre, which recently achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating on their first inspection since opening its doors in 2020.

Margaret Bersey, Centre Manager, says, ‘Our Assessing Social Workers in Daffodil have some exceptional skills. Because we are a residential unit, relationships are close, so interactions are a little more intensive. Patience, understanding, and the ability to constructively confront are at a premium. It also means an enhanced opportunity to see vital changes as a direct effect of social work interventions.

‘Adding to the quality of the nurturing environment in Daffodil is another skill, rewarded by clear outcomes for the children.’

The charity is committed to:

  • Quality, equality and valuing diversity
  • Promoting a trauma-informed practice approach, working with families, building on their strengths and empowering them to be the best they can be.
  • Promoting a strong learning culture
  • Small caseloads with a supportive manager
  • Valuing their social workers.

Hannah Shead, CEO, says: 'This is an exciting time to join Trevi and especially to become part of our Daffodil team.

‘Our residential family centre is only two years old, so we are still in the early phase of our journey – we are looking for the right person to be part of our ongoing development and improvement – someone who is passionate about working with families and open to thinking and working creatively

‘Trevi really is a great place to work and offers a supportive, empowering and inspiring environment.

‘These are exciting times, and we are on a positive journey of change. We are looking for dynamic, collaborative professional people to join us as we build and strengthen our team.’

Trevi is hosting a Recruitment Open Day for social workers interested in joining our team on Thursday 24 March from 10am to 12noon. If you are interested in visiting them and learning more about working for the charity, please call on 01752 270 007
