Would you like to help make a difference to our patients? If so, please join the new Patient Council and come along to the meet and greet evening on Tuesday 30th September, between 5-7pm at the Peninsula Radiology Academy.

This is a great opportunity to meet with members of the Trust including Carolyn Bruce Spencer, Chair of the new Patient Council, Jayne Glynn, Patient Experience Manager and Bev Cox, Deputy Director of Nursing.

Jayne said: “We would like to encourage people to get involved with our new Patient Council, which will represent the voice of patient, relatives, carers and members of the public who directly use or have used our services at Derriford Hospital, Child Development Centre and the Plymouth Dialysis Unit.

“Members will be actively involved in improving services and ensuring that hospital management understand the patient’s perspective.”

If you are interested, you will be involved in influencing the patient experience and shaping the future of our services. Full training will be provided and any out-of-pocket expenses will be paid.

Carolyn added: “Our ambition is that the Patient Council will provide the Trust with the ‘voice of the patient’, a mechanism that will involve both patients and the public in shaping strategies and new initiatives. Our purpose will be to support the Trust by recommending improvements to the quality of services and the patient experience.”

If you would like to get involved, please contact Jayne Glynn on jayne.glynn@nhs.net or call 01752 439695.
