Drake Circus Shopping Centre, Plymouth has revealed its plans for Christmas - with tons of magical fun for all the family - including a special Christmas light switch on.

Christmas officially kicks off on Nov 17 at the South West's leading shopping centre, when Santa opens his Smeaton Tower style grotto and put his elves to work. As if by magic it will start snowing on Old Town Street every day at 4pm until Dec 24. Then at 5pm stilt walkers will appear just in time for the big Drake Circus Christmas Light switch on at 5.30pm.

On Nov 24 the stilt walkers will return to amaze visitors to Drake Circus and then on Dec 1, 8, 14, and 22, the centre will resonate to the sound of the ever popular local choirs, singing Christmas carols. Amongst the choirs performing will be the Kings School Choir, University of Plymouth Chior, Plymouth Performing Arts Chior and the Oreston Priamry school Chior.

On Dec 3 it's time to dust off your best acrylic sweater in time for Christmas Jumper day, in aid of the St Lukes Hospice charity.

Shopping at Drake Circus will definitely have a festive feel, with 70 tops brands under one roof,  late night shopping evenings every Thursday from 5pm – 9pm, Click and Collect, the Drake Circus Gift Card and car park opening hours everyday from 6.30pm - 10.30pm.

"Christmas at Drake Circus is gearing up to be really special this year - we're particularly looking forward to the Christmas light switch on and of course welcoming Santa to the centre," said Centre Director, Greg Lumley. "We're very proud of our customer service at Drake Circus and we aim to make Christmas shopping enjoyable and fun for all the family."
