Festival first for Coldharbour Field Kitchen!

Award-winning café Coldharbour Field Kitchen in Ottery St Mary is adding to the summer vibes this year with its inaugural mini festival.

'The Summer Sessions’ takes place on Saturday August 5 with the perfect combination of live music, food and drink.

With just 400 tickets up for grabs this is going to be a friendly, intimate event just perfect to while away a summer Saturday enjoying stunning views over the Otter Valley.

Coldharbour Field Kitchen co-owner Andrea Broadhurst said; “We wanted to celebrate our successful first year and it seemed a good idea to make the most of our fantastic setting and enjoy some great local bands and delicious food and drink.

“We’re hoping lots of local friends will join us for what promises to be a really enjoyable event.”

Six fantastic South West bands are lined up to entertain the crowds: Popular reggae, punk, dub and world music-influenced ensemble The Barefoot Bandit; reggae collective Revelation Roots; American blues band Gigi and the Grits, four piece smooth blues band Tricky Situation featuring soulful vocals from Verity Greenaway; jazz ensemble The Kieron Garret Quartet; and local indie rock band The Kabins.

Coldharbour Field Kitchen is well known for its scrumptious food which features plenty of locally sourced ingredients including produce from right on the doorstep at Coldharbour Farm. With its gold and silver dining awards, visitors can expect superb quality and taste.

Andrea’s partner Beth Ashfield added: “We’re providing all the food ourselves so it will be freshly made on site with lots of choice. We’ll definitely be firing up the wood-fired oven and BBQ grill in our new outdoor kitchen for tasty pizzas and skewered meats and vegetables.”

For liquid refreshments, the Field Kitchen bar stocks a range of local drinks from Sandford Orchards cider and Otter Brewery beers to artisan spirits including Coldharbour’s very own Flaming Barrels gin.

Coldharbour is located at the top of Slade Road in Ottery St Mary. There’s limited parking so local festival goers are asked to walk to the venue if possible.

The Summer Sessions will run from 4.30 to 11pm with food available from early afternoon until around 9pm.
