Libraries from across Plymouth and the South West are taking readers on a journey to new worlds over the next three months.

The Reading Passport Challenge is encouraging people to read books from four genres they may not have tried before – the World of Darkness, World of Passion, Lyrical Worlds and Future Worlds.

Organised by Read South West – a partnership of all the South West library authorities – the challenge will run until 30 December and is open to all library members aged 16 and over.

Everyone who takes part will get a South West Reading Passport to record and review the books they read – and there’s a chance to win a book gift card worth £150. If you need inspiration the passport highlights six authors from your area and provides reading lists to tempt you to try something new.

South West charity Literature Works has developed a new Reading Passport website where booklists and reviews can be posted. The website has more information about the featured authors and events they are doing in the region to support the challenge.
