Clyst Honiton Neighbourhood Plan: have your say on future developments

Share your thoughts on the future of Clyst Honiton village and its rural surroundings and help shape developments in the area for the next five years and beyond.

The Neighbourhood Plan proposes a site for up to nine homes in the village and formal protection for four locally valued green spaces. Community facilities, sustainability, the local economy, employment, housing, parking, and the natural environment are some of the topics that are also covered.

Alternatively, hard copies of the plan can be viewed at either Exeter Library, Hairport Studio, St Michael and All Angels Church in Clyst Honiton Village, or by appointment at Blackdown House in Honiton. Councillor Olly Davey, East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) Portfolio Holder for Strategic Planning, said: "Neighbourhood Plans are an excellent way for communities to express their ambitions and desires for how they want their area to grow and develop. They take a lot of work and dedication, often by quite a small group of people, and I encourage everyone to comment on the Plan, so that it can be seen to reflect the views and aspirations of a wide section of the community."

EDDC is required to consult on the Neighbourhood Plan for at least six weeks before it goes to an independent Examiner, who ensures that it meets ‘basic conditions’. If these conditions are met, a local community referendum will be held. If more than half of voters are in favour of the plan, it will be used when deciding planning applications in the Plan area going forwards.
