Police in Plymouth are appealing for information to identify two bogus charity collectors.

On Sunday 17th August at the Plymouth Mega Ride Event on the Hoe Promenade, two women were witnessed aggressively collecting money allegedly on behalf of the MacMillan Charity.
The two women were seen collecting money from the public on the Hoe Promenade from 12.30pm onwards, and drew attention due to their persistent aggressive behaviour when trying to collect money from members of the public.

The organisers of Plymouth Mega Ride have received numerous complaints regarding the pair. The Organisers have contacted MacMillan to report it and they have confirmed that they had no charity collectors in that area for that event on Sunday.

The two women are described as being, white approximately 20-23 years of age with local accents. They both had long brown hair, one with a light coloured vest top and the other wore a dark coloured vest top and ¾ length jeans.
They were carrying blank blue collection buckets with no signage and when challenged, produced a letter with the MacMillan logo on it but neither had any identification.

The area was naturally very busy at the time and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.  A lot of people on the day were using cameras and police are asking members of the public to check their photographs to see if it contains pictures of the two women.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting police reference 514 200814.
