Appeal after attempted robbery and assault

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery and assault that took place in the Efford area of Plymouth.

At around 4.15am on Sunday 13th September, an 18-year-old man was walking on the footpath that runs from Efford lane towards Channel Park Avenue following a night out with friends.

He was stopped by two men who demanded his mobile phone from him, he refused and was then punched him in the stomach before the two men ran off empty handed.

One of the men is described as white, 6 foot tall, medium build with longish black hair and wearing a plain black hooded top and spoke with a deep voice.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence, who witnessed the attack, or who recognises the description of the attacker.
