Devon based chef Gideon Hitchin sold his popular restaurant the Giant Club in Axminster during the first covid lockdown in 2020 and has been finding unusual ways to connect with his loyal customers ever since.

In June 2021 he organised a series of pop-up restaurant events in a tractor shed on a wildflower farm outside of Honiton. All 500 tickets sold out within a week of going on sale and the happy diners enjoyed the combination of fine dining and local wines (from the neighbouring vineyard in Dalwood) in an out of the ordinary setting.

Now Gideon has decided to bring things a little (or a lot!) closer to home by inviting everyone to a series of pop-up dining nights in his house in Exeter. For November and December only, he has cleared out the ground floor of his 4 bed home and has instead installed seating for 30 diners. There will even be a ‘chef’s table’ in the kitchen where he willcooking the food.

There will be a cosy winter theme with contemporary art (which is also far sale – great for xmas presents!) and vintage white tablecloths and candles. Diners can expect a 5 course set-menu of seasonal produce and all the wines will be supplied by his friends at Exeter’s very own Pullo wine store on Fore Street.

‘Closer To Home’ every Friday & Saturday night from 3rd Nov until 16th Dec.

Anyone wishing to buy a ticket can do so via the website www.the-giant-club.co.uk
