Family and friends of Thomas Willcocks paid a special visit to Pencarrow Intensive Care Unit today, to thank staff for the care he had received.

After spending time on Pencarrow, Thomas sadly passed away in January 2015 and his family decided that they wanted to make a donation to the Pencarrow Nurses Fund. After donations at the funeral, in the workplace and from friends, a cheque of £1910.80 was presented to the ward.

Nigel Willcocks, Thomas’s dad said: “We wanted to say thank you and show our appreciation to the doctors and nurses for working tirelessly whilst Thomas was in hospital for six weeks.

“It wasn’t for their lack of care or attention for his loss and we hope that this donation will help.”

Helen McMillan, Sister on Pencarrow said: “I would like to thank the family of Thomas for their generous donation. Under difficult circumstances, we thank their bravery for bringing the cheque into the unit. This donation will be used to help support the ward in many ways.”
