Data Reveals UK’s Top 10 Spots for Family Easter Staycations that ‘Won’t Break the Bank’

It’s official, Skegness in Lincolnshire has been named the best spot for an affordable break this Easter 2023. Self-catering specialist Hoseasons has released the top 10 locations in the UK for Easter breaks that ‘won’t break the bank’, revealing which hot-spots are attracting families looking for holiday deals this year.

Other locations in the top five include, seaside village, Winterton-on-Seain Norfolk (#2), whereas it seems families looking for Northern delights are heading to Beverley, East Yorkshire (#3). Those looking for a classic British seaside vibe are opting for sunny Great Yarmouth (#4). Families craving the iconic beauty of The Lakes, but looking for a more affordable option to Windermere, might try the equally as stunning, Bassenthwaite, Cumbria (#5).

Increasingly more families are deciding to take a great British staycation this Easter compared to previous years with 41% more bookings for accommodation sleeping four or more, when compared to bookings for the same time frame in 2019. Plus, it seems that pet-friendly breaks are also on the rise with 38% more pet holidays being booked this year compared to 2019.

Commenting on the data, Paul Evans, Vice President - Portfolio, at Awaze – the parent company of Hoseasons – said, “What’s interesting about the data is there’s a really wide range of UK locations in the top 10 this Easter. From popular Northern destinations such as Cumbria featuring twice on the list, places like Wales and Lincolnshire, and then heading right down to Somerset and Cornish destinations, demonstrating that preferences for an Easter break are broad and eclectic. Plus, as the year progresses we’re seeing more Norfolk locations make an appearance in our hot-spots for 2023. Interestingly, we’re also seeing more and more families wanting to holiday during Easter than ever before compared to pre-pandemic (41%+) and the same applies with doggie breaks (35%+) – it seems that the nation is lapping up the chance to get away with their four-legged friends.”
