Last week, Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust hosted a Cancer Summit, which saw hundreds of health professionals gather together to inform future cancer care in Plymouth.

A range of national speakers attended the event, including Sean Duffy, National Clinical Cancer Director and Professor Jane Maher, Chief Medical Officer, Macmillan Cancer Support, showcasing best practise, research and innovation.

Sian Dennison, Lead Cancer Nurse at Derriford Hospital said: “The Cancer Summit was a fantastic day, bringing together hundreds of health professionals to inspire us, to drive forward improvements and to make us as good as we can be.

“We celebrated what we did well and what we can change, such as making sure we know our outcomes, better collaboration with primary care, overcoming barriers and egos to make things better for our patients.”
