A unique establishment tucked away near Stockleigh Pomeroy celebrated its grand reopening following an extensive renovation project.

The revamped venue captivated guests with a weekend of delectable cuisine, refreshing beverages, holistic treatments, and live musical performances.

Co-owner Dominic Jones, in collaboration with his mother Sandie, spearheaded the redesign efforts, resulting in a space that embodies their shared vision. Dominic says, "This project has been a true labour of love, and we are thrilled to finally unveil the result of all the hard work.”

The venue now boasts three distinct themed areas: Aquarius Bar, Amazon Lounge, and Atlantean Lounge. Each space exudes a unique ambiance, from the celestial-inspired bar to the lush greens of the jungle and the serene blues of the sea in the two lounges.

An array of locally sourced ingredients is showcased: Amazon Lounge offers a grazing menu featuring delectable charcuterie and West Country cheeses whilst Aquarius Bar’s choices include sharing dishes and classic favourites such as sustainably sourced scampi and Devon steak burgers. The Atlantean Lounge caters to fine dining enthusiasts with enticing dishes such as St Austell mussels, Brixham hake, Devon sausage pappardelle, and charred cauliflower.

For cocktail enthusiasts, Aquarius Bar offers an impressive selection, from beloved standards like mojitos and pina coladas to Dominic's own Cosmic Cocktails range inspired by zodiac signs. Sharing his plans for the summer, he said: "I’m going to be introducing 12 new concoctions called Family Favourites, each named after a member of my family!"

The bar showcases local spirits such as rums and tequilas and has a diverse wine list that includes organic prosecco. Guests can also savour ciders and ales from esteemed local producers such as Hanlons Brewery and Sandford Orchards.

The venue is an integral part of the larger Kitlake Farm, a family-run business that boasts breath-taking views of the Exe Valley. Founded by Sandie and husband Howard in 2010, the site is home to renowned specialist retailer Wishes, the largest crystal stockist in Devon. Wishes has also undergone a significant refurbishment, providing visitors with expanded space and an even wider selection of crystals and associated items.

Sandie's holistic expertise extends beyond crystals to mindfulness and wellbeing. Wishes has a temple room for meditation and treatment rooms offering a range of therapies, including Swedish massage, rehabilitative massage, Sekhem elemental balancing, enriching facials, and crystal healing. In addition, Wishes runs retreats and spa weekends, with three cabins available for guests and a fourth to be added soon.

Aligned with the family's overarching ethos, the entire Kitlake Farm site is designed to be carbon neutral. The business upholds environmentally friendly commitments, including solar panels, cruelty free cleaning and washing products, responsibly sourced paper, eco kettles and the use of recycled materials wherever possible. Furthermore, the farm offsets its carbon footprint through support for tree planting and humanitarian initiatives in collaboration with the Ecologi organization.

For those seeking a relaxed festival experience this summer, Wishfest awaits. This one-day event will take place at Kitlake Farm on Saturday, June 3, from 11am to 11:30pm. Returning for its second year, Wishfest offers an opportunity to become immersed in the unique charm of the site, enjoy the picturesque views, indulge in exceptional food, revel in live music, and explore the dedicated wellbeing field and spa experiences. Tickets are just £30, and camping facilities are provided.

Sandie said: "The event is perfectly timed with the June full moon. We are incredibly excited to welcome a wider audience to experience the essence of our establishment. This is a truly special place that appeals to anyone seeking a warm, tranquil, and sociable environment."
