What could be better than relaxing at a beautiful West Country beach with breath-taking views and tucking into scrumptious, premium produce? The Venus Company count themselves extremely lucky to be located at some of Devon and Cornwall’s most stunning and sought after beaches including Devon’s Blackpool Sands, Bigbury on Sea and East Portlemouth and Cornwall’s Watergate Bay and Tolcarne.

Blackpool Sands

Whether you’re visiting the region on holiday or live locally, a trip to Devon’s secluded ‘Blue Flag’ Blackpool Sands with its clear turquoise waters is an absolute must. Open daily, the newly refurbished The Venus Café specialises in serving divine seafood which is landed just a few miles away from sustainable stocks. Choose from their renowned beer battered fish and chips, legendary fish pie created with pollock, haddock and salmon, fresh fish of the day en papillote as well as weekly fish specials. The Venus Café also serves breakfast, meat and vegetarian dishes, cakes and desserts. Luscombe Drinks, ciders from Lyme Bay, beers from Quercus Devon Ales and Bays Brewery and wines from Sharpham Vineyard are just some of the regional drinks producers on the menu. The Venus Café at Blackpool Sands is open from 8.30am – 5.00pm and every evening during the school summer holidays.

In addition to their heavenly menu, there’s also The Venus Beach Shop selling inflatables, buckets and spades, beach games and much more. The Venus Company in the summer, through Venus Riders offers a fantastic range of exciting watersports ideal for the whole family and those who want to get their adrenaline going. So, why not hit the watersports or have a go on the sit on kayaks, great fun is guaranteed.

Bigbury on Sea

With its beautiful golden sand, fabulous rock pools, world renowned Burgh Island and shallow waters, Bigbury on Sea is one of Devon’s many gems. Well-known for its watersports, why not have a go at stand up paddle boarding, surfing or kayaking with Venus Riders in conjunction with Discovery Surf School when visiting Bigbury on Sea?

Perfect for those who have built up an appetite, the newly revamped The Venus Takeaway is located right next to the beach. What could be better than tucking into one of Venus’ famous organic beef burgers? Made using Devon grass fed 28 day aged beef, their succulent burgers are sure to fill you up after a busy day out on the waves. The Venus Takeaway also serves tasty veggie burgers, paninis, pasties, breakfast baps and children’s meals. With new outdoor heaters, customers can now sit outside and enjoy the stunning views whatever the weather. The Venus Takeaway is open 10am - 5pm daily (9am - 6pm in July and August).

East Portlemouth

Only a stone's throw from popular Salcombe, the beaches at East Portlemouth offer peace and tranquillity. Open daily (March – October), The Venus Takeaway serves the Posh Pasty Co’s hand produced artisan pasties. Available in triple cheese and onion and minted lamb, these gourmet pasties use only ingredients sourced from Devon and Cornwall. The takeaway also serves sandwiches, baguettes, Devon ice cream and cream teas. In The Venus Beach Shop there’s enough to keep children amused for hours including buckets, spades and beach games. The Venus Takeaway is open between 10.00am and 5.00pm from the end of March to the end of October (9.00am - 6.00pm July and August).

Watergate Bay

Famed for its vast expanse of fine golden sand and loved by surfers, Watergate Bay is one of Cornwall’s must visit beaches. Situated right on the beach and open daily, The Venus Takeaway offers an enticing menu of hot and cold, local and organic food and drink. With an abundance of choice for gluten free, vegetarian and meat lovers including pasties, baguettes, sandwiches and burgers. The Venus Takeaway is open from 10.00am – 5.00pm and later weather depending.

Tolcarne

Nestled in a beautiful bay, Tolcarne beach in Cornwall is perfect for those seeking family fun in a charming setting. With a glass screened decked area The Venus Takeaway offers all weather dining every day from March until October with a tempting selection of hot and cold locally sourced produce available. The Venus Takeaway is open from 10.00am – 5.00pm from Easter until the end of October (9.00am – 6.00pm in July and August).
Visitors to Tolcarne can buy everything they need for a fantastic day out from The Venus Beach Shop, whether it’s buckets and spades, sun cream or beach games.

The Shops at Dartington

Visit The Venus Company’s only inland café at The Shops at Dartington, near Totnes, Devon. After a spot of retail therapy what could be better than sitting back in The Venus Café with a steaming organic coffee and one of Venus’ wonderful homemade cakes or cream teas? Open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, The Venus Café offers a great assortment of hot and cold food and is open between 8.30am – 5.00pm.
