This year's Devon Restaurant Month, which took place in June, was a resounding success. Over 30 establishments across the county participated and the feedback from all was 'outstanding'. Next year will see the fifth Devon Restaurant Month and it promises to raise the bar even higher and bring even more custom into the county's bounty of eateries.

Commenting on its success, Jeff Cooper, founder of Devon Restaurant Month, says: "The Devon restaurant scene is almost unrecognisable from what it was a few years ago. When we first set up Devon Restaurant Month it was to celebrate all that was happening within food and drink in the county. Now, four years on, the innovation, creativity and vibrancy in the kitchens is on a whole new level, helping to position Devon as one of the most exciting places to eat in the country." Jeff continues: "We have already started planning next June's Devon Restaurant Month and will be intrigued to see how things have progressed again by then."

The success of Devon Restaurant Month was reflected on social media where on Twitter there were over 104,000 impressions, with the website receiving more than 14,200 page views. Promotion in the lead up and during the month saw Londoners reading all about it in the London Evening Standard and other publications across the country, as well as more locally.

Commenting on behalf of Dukes in Sidmouth, Jo Watson says: "We saw a massive benefit of being involved in Devon Restaurant Month. The numbers of diners increased dramatically over historic figures for this period just before the main holiday season. We had visitors from all over the country who had read about restaurant month and booked on the strength of it.” Devon Seafood Night on a Thursday evening at Dukes was so popular throughout Devon Restaurant Month that it was decided to continue the offer throughout the summer.

The event’s headline gold sponsors were Buckleigh Laundry Ltd and Luscombe Drinks whilst crab company Favis of Salcombe, PVM Supplies LTD and Voyager Coffee were are also sponsors.
